Role Overview

The School of Education and English at the University of Bedfordshire offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate Initial Teacher Training (ITT) courses in primary and secondary education. This position provides an opportunity to join an established primary education team.

The post holder will teach and lead practice in our primary education programmes including PGCE Primary Education with QTS (3-7) and (5-11) and BA Primary Education with QTS (3-7) and (5-11). The role involves supporting and delivering a range of education units that lead to Qualified Teacher Status.

Responsibilities
  • Teach and lead practice in primary education programmes (PGCE and BA).
  • Deliver education units that contribute to Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Mentor student teachers and share good practice.
  • Lead teacher development activities.
  • Support and provide feedback to students and colleagues.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in primary education teaching.
  • Knowledge of national and international primary education perspectives.
  • Strong research understanding and ability to apply contemporary educational developments.
  • Proven track record in mentoring and teacher development.
