Trusts Manager
Posted 12 hours 16 minutes ago by Armybenevolentfund
The Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) is the Army's national charity, supporting soldiers, veterans, and their immediate families in times of need. Founded in 1944, our purpose is to provide a lifetime of support to serving soldiers, former soldiers, and their families when they are in need, ensuring they can avoid hardship and enjoy independence and dignity. The Charity operates a regional structure across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, with its central office in London.
Join the High Value Relationships team at the Army's national charity in the role of Trusts Manager. This is a pivotal role responsible for leading the successful Trusts and Foundations programme, delivering against annual income targets, and driving growth through excellent donor stewardship, high-quality reporting and proposals and robust prospect development. The Trusts Manager will manage a portfolio of existing Trusts and Foundations supporters, ensuring outstanding stewardship and reporting, while also building and managing a strong pipeline of prospective funders. You will act as the Charity's subject matter expert on Trusts and Foundations, designing standard and bespoke funding proposals and applications tailored to each funder. You will also work collaboratively across teams to understand and present the Charity's work and impact, and to maximise income and impact.
With a unique, relevant, and compelling charitable proposition, a nationwide network of colleagues and beneficiaries, and a growing High Value Relationships programme, the Army Benevolent Fund is well placed to secure significant grant funding from Trusts and Foundations. Supported by the Head of High Value Relationships and working closely with colleagues across fundraising, welfare, communications and regions, this role offers an opportunity to shape and grow an important income stream for the Charity.
You will also line manage a Trusts Executive, providing leadership, support, and oversight to ensure the effective delivery of the Trusts programme, and will play a key role in reporting performance against agreed targets and KPIs. This role would suit an experienced Trusts fundraiser with a proven track record of managing relationships and securing significant grants, including from cold prospects, who is confident working strategically as well as hands on. The successful candidate will have exceptional written communication skills, strong relationship-building ability, and a proactive, organised, and collaborative approach. A strong affinity with the Charity's mission and beneficiaries is essential.
What We OfferThe starting salary is £46,675 per annum. Following a six-month probationary period, the successful candidate will have access to the Charity's full range of benefits, including an employer-contribution pension scheme and income protection. There will be opportunities to attend key Charity events and activities, with a TOIL scheme in place.
This is a full-time, permanent role (35 hours per week) based at the Charity's London office (the Charity currently operates a minimum of 2 days in the office), with regular travel across the UK and occasional evening and weekend work as required.
The Army Benevolent Fund is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
