An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic and growing Resuscitation Team as Trust Resuscitation Manager. This is a full-time, permanent post, based in Central London, leading resuscitation services across the Trust.

The Resuscitation Team provides responsive education, training, and expert advice on resuscitation and the recognition and management of the deteriorating patient. Training is delivered to both clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels throughout the Trust.

We are seeking a motivated, flexible, and experienced professional to lead the team and drive high-quality resuscitation training and practice.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Trust Resuscitation Team, including line management of Band 6 Resuscitation Officers.
  • Coordinate and oversee resuscitation training at Trust venues across London, Surrey, and Milton Keynes, covering Immediate Life Support (ILS) and Basic Life Support (BLS levels 1 & 2).

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and contribute to resuscitation audits.
  • Lead and deliver a programme of simulation across the Trust.
  • Quality improvement, incident review, and maintenance of clinical equipment.
  • Ownership of the Resuscitation policy.
  • Work collaboratively with a wide range of professionals and respond to varied operational challenges.
Working for our organisation
  • Registered healthcare professional with NMC, HCPC, or equivalent registration.
  • RCUK ALS instructor.
  • Significant experience in responding to deteriorating patients, preferably including hands on resuscitation experience.
  • Proven experience teaching resuscitation.
  • Experience of managing staff members.
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

  • Experience as an ILS Course Director.
  • Experience of undertaking audit and investigating incidents.

Additional Information

The successful applicant will be based in Central London but must be willing to travel across London and Milton Keynes, where services and training are delivered.

Education and qualifications
  • Registered health care professional.
  • RCUK ALS instructor.
  • Educated to degree or diploma level.
  • Educated to Masters or willing to undertake a masters.
  • Has 5 years experience as a health care professional.
  • Worked clinically / in management at band 6 level for at least 1 year.
  • Experience of line management for at least 1 year.
  • Experience of developing practice and of research and audit.
  • Experience of teaching / training for 3 years.
  • Experience of working in a mental health setting.
Skills and knowledge
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of RCUK current resuscitation guidelines.
  • Clear understanding of medical conditions such as sepsis, seizures and diabetes.
  • Sound management knowledge of undertaking appraisals and supervision.
  • Sound IT skills including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience of working in a multi agency setting.
Attitudes and personal characteristics
  • Ability to use own initiative and be self motivated.
  • Able to communicate and disseminate information at all levels.
  • Able to frequently independently travel across London and to Milton Keynes.
