Fixed Term for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension.

Main duties of the jobThe successful post holder will work at SpR level and join the Histopathology Team at Hull Royal Infirmary. The Post holder will be competent in basic skills in Histopathology and engage in all the duties incumbent in that role.
This is not an approved training position.
As Trust Grade Doctor within Histopathology applicants are expected to be experienced in all aspects of histopathology and non-gynae cytology The post holder will work within the relevant specialist teams.
The post will involve performing or supervising dissection, microscopy and other diagnostic techniques, working up and reporting cases at a level appropriate for a specialty doctor working in a team with consultant colleagues, and supporting multi disciplinary meetings and case discussions.

Person Specification Qualifications and experience- Has achieved a medical qualification
- Full registration and hold a license to practice with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligible for the same.
- FRC Path Part 2
- Commitment to continuing medical education and CPD.
- Advises and participates in audits for the local programme relevant to their role
- Clinical training and experience, minimum three years of experience in cellular pathology.
- Experience in the independent dissection of histopathology specimens
- Ability to present histology and cytology findings to clinical colleagues
- Reporting standard at ST3 level+
- Understands the wider organisation and understands and values the need for efficient use of resources
