Trust Accountant

Annual Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 per annum

Location: South Oxfordshire

Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid (35 hours per week)

Reed Accountancy are thrilled to be partnering with a repeat, market leading, client who are looking for a Trust Accountant to take full ownership of the trust ledger for their group and clients. This role offers a varied and rewarding opportunity, ideal for a motivated individual looking to grow and develop their finance career.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Maintain and reconcile the trust ledgers frequently, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Generate monthly reports and trust statements for group and third-party publishers.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly cash reconciliations, manage payments, and analyse client accounts.
  • Handle all client queries and requests related to the trust ledger efficiently.
  • Own the sales ledger related reports, structuring and scheduling them for internal and external requirements.
  • Manage the monthly ledger period close, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Assist with trade debtor reconciliation across the group, coordinating with various departments to resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the finance team as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts) and experience in redesigning processes.
  • Experience in client-focused roles and comfortable working with people at all levels.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing full ownership of an accounting role.
  • Knowledge of SAP or other large ERP systems is highly desirable.
  • Part-qualified or qualified by experience (QBE) in accounting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and initiate work processes.
  • Adaptable, team-oriented, and a growth mindset with a proactive work approach.
