Role OverviewWe're looking for someone who's passionate about helping people and ready to make a real difference! As a Housing Triage and Needs Officer you'll be the first point of contact for residents seeking housing advice, support or emergency help. You'll assess housing needs, offer guidance and help people navigate difficult and often sensitive housing situations including accommodation finding, notices to leave accommodation, and overcrowding.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the first point of contact for residents seeking housing advice, support, or emergency help.
- Assess housing needs, evaluate cases and provide advice based on housing law, policy and individual circumstances.
- Assist residents with accommodation finding, notices to leave accommodation and addressing overcrowding.
- Record and track cases using IT systems and manage time independently.
- Work closely with supportive team and partner agencies to ensure timely and appropriate support.
- Experience in housing, advice or care services.
- Strong communication, problem solving and decision making skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently and use IT systems.
- Good understanding of housing law and the challenges faced by people in housing need.
- Empathy, clarity, professionalism and ability to make sound decisions based on law and policy.
