Travel Consultant- Talent Pool

Responsibilities

As a Travel Consultant with LNER you will provide customers with accurate and impartial information and advice to help them purchase tickets for their journeys. Using excellent questioning and listening skills you will identify specific customer requirements and recommend the products that best meet their needs. You will stay up to date with new products and promotions to ensure you provide accurate information at all times.

You will also

• serve customers at the counter and floor walk, welcoming customers, managing queues, maintaining ticket vending machines, assisting with questions and supporting customers during service disruption;
• perform cashier responsibilities, including preparing floats and processing revenue, reconciling cash, providing reports, and processing refund claims in compliance with LNER processes.

Qualifications

• Existing ticket knowledge and knowledge of Travel Centre retailing products.
• Ability to work as part of a team and build relationships at all levels.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of customers.
• Excellent numerical and written skills.
• Previous experience within a cash handling role and knowledge of company cash regulations.
• Trustworthiness and ability to work with confidential information.
• Calmness under pressure, especially during peak queue times or service disruption.
• Computer literacy to locate the best available tickets.
