Transport Supervisor

Fulltime Born

As a Transport Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality transport operations. In this role, you will supervise day-to-day planning activities, monitor operational performance, and guide a team of transport planners to achieve service excellence. You will support continuous improvement initiatives to ensure our in- and outbound transport activities remain cost-efficient, reliable, and innovative.

Purpose of the job

Operational & Planning Responsibilities

  • Ensure that planners adhere to SOPs and established operational protocols
  • Utilize transportation software systems to support transport planning and scheduling
  • Manage the overall quality of the transport planning process
  • Monitor, follow up on, and continuously improve KPI and SLA performance
  • Solve first-line escalations from carriers and customers
  • Align daily activities with warehouse operations, customer service, and carriers
  • Track shipments and inventory movements, and reroute freight as necessary
  • Identify bottlenecks in the planning process and report them to management
  • Analyze planning efficiency and identify opportunities for process optimization

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Support, coach, and guide a team of transport planners
  • Organize recurring team meetings and one-on-one sessions to ensure a positive work environment
  • Support HR-related tasks such as evaluations, interviews, and absence follow-up
  • Build trust within the team to create shared responsibility

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Support the maintenance, upgrades, testing, and implementation of the TMS
  • Assist in developing and implementing improved logistics processes and systems
  • Maintain and manage transport-related master data

Additional Support

  • Support tasks delegated by the Transport Manager
  • Handle other reasonable future responsibilities as the role evolves

Profile

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in transport or logistics planning roles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Experience with solving transport-related challenges

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working within 3PL environments
  • Planning experience and strong project management skills
  • Ability to independently execute complex tasks and challenge conventional solutions
