Job Description
Transport Planner

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Responsibilities
  • Dispatch all Ireland transport for road.
  • Ensure maximum efficiency across all transports.
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with internal departments and vendors.
  • Ensure all vehicle allocations are met.
  • Undertake training to provide cover during colleague absences.
  • Act as focal point to provide updates for internal teams to ensure high quality of customer service.
  • Manage key transport accounts.
  • Capture and report all additional costs to relevant departments.
  • Provide feedback on transport performance.
  • Coordinate with the Transport team to resolve service issues with corrective actions.
  • Liaise with import and export customer service groups.
  • Build relationships with hauliers.
  • Ensure costs are being logged correctly.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Professional telephone manner.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
Practical & Technical Knowledge
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of Destin8 and CNS port community systems preferable.
  • Good geographical and spatial awareness of Ireland, used to calculate appropriate routes.
