Our client are continuing to expand and we are currently seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their day shift team. This is a great opportunity to secure a stable role with excellent development prospects in a supportive working environment. You will help ensure the smooth running of our transport operation for a major client and recognised brand.

Role Responsibilities:

• Manage the Planning Email communication with senior planners.
• Support senior planners with requested activity, to include contacting drivers or subcontractors, communicating plans to drivers/subcontractors (this list is not exhaustive).
• Plan execution and communicating issues to relevant senior planner and customer services.
• Debrief drivers to ensure actual times, trailer no's and demurrage are recorded in line with expectations.
• Support senior planners with driver hours and timesheet management.
• Dispatch drivers in line with load requirements and driver's hours
• Complete thorough driver briefings and debriefs
• Monitor all on-site haulier activity and update relevant systems

Key Skills

• Must have knowledge of TMS or demonstrate experience and systems knowledge.
• Have worked in a planning function previously undertaking similar duties.
• Ability to interpret and translate facts and information in order to explain situations and issues to people.
• Ability to follow pre-defined steps, methods or approaches but with the ability to modify and adapt when required.
• Organised and process driven.
• Quick, logical thinker with the ability to manage change and conflicting priorities.
• Professional approach.
• Team working.
• Capable of professional written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of the transport industry and complete Explore offering.
• Understanding of general business processes relating to the industry.
