Transport Development Auditor

£34,500 - £38,500

6 Months - Fixed-Term Contract

At our client, transport safety and compliance sit at the heart of everything they do. Their Transport Development Team plays a vital role in raising standards, strengthening road safety, and shaping positive driver and management behaviours across the business.

They're now looking for a Transport Development Auditor on a 6-month fixed term contract to join the team and act as a key compliance checkpoint across all sites. This role offers a real opportunity to influence standards, support operational excellence and help shape the future of transport development across our Group.

What you'll be doing:

You'll work closely with sites and leadership teams to assess, support and continuously improve transport compliance and performance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out routine transport audits across all sites, including 28-day and quarterly reviews
  • Preparing for audits remotely using company-approved systems, followed by on-site audits as required
  • Ensuring Earned Recognition standards (Driver and Vehicle) are met prior to physical site visits
  • Collating audit findings and delivering clear, structured feedback to stakeholders
  • Presenting audit outcomes and recommendations to site teams and Area-level leadership
  • Creating and maintaining audit records in line with DVSA and ISO standards
  • Identifying training and development needs for site transport teams
  • Supporting succession planning by highlighting future talent for transport roles
  • Ensuring audits are delivered consistently, fairly and within agreed timeframes
  • Contributing to wider Transport Development initiatives and projects
  • Keeping up to date with legislative changes and industry best practice through continuous professional development

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Confident in using Microsoft Office packages
  • Professional Competency in Transport Management (CPC) with relevant experience is desirable
  • Experience managing processes in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Strong understanding of Operator License obligations is desirable
  • Proven experience in using TACHO master is desirable
  • Proven ability to analyse data, collate information and influence stakeholders
  • Experience creating efficient systems and ways of working
  • Confident creating and delivering content across a range of transport topics
  • Ability to influence through data and insight to all levels across the organisation
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong cross-referencing skills
  • Experience supporting and driving change management
