Our client are continuing to expand and we are currently seeking an experienced Transport Compliance Manager to join their day shift team. This is a great opportunity to secure a stable role with excellent development prospects in a supportive working environment. You will help ensure the smooth running of our transport operation for a major client and recognised brand.
Role Responsibilities:
- To liaise between operations team and Fleet manager to continuously manage and schedule fleet inspections and MOTs in line with operators licence
- To continue and effectively maintain tachograph analysis and recording (drivers' hours/working time directive and infringements) in line with the operators licence.
- To monitor all missing mileage and ensure this investigated and accounted for wherever possible.
- To produce transport weekly KPI's working with management accountant.
- To work closely with the Driver Trainer to implement and improvement initiatives to eliminate infringements.
- To continously and effetively manage drivers through disciplinary procedures if improvements fail in line with the operators licence.
- To promote and continuously and effectively drive the defect reporting and consult with fleet manger to ensure appropriate defect rectification.
- To monitor current transport systems ensuring data is relevant to the business/researching better models.
- To manage compliance between the UK and EU operators' licences, as set out in the dual registration "the specialists events haulage guidelines."
- To manage driver welfare and safety continuously and effectively, including drivers' hours and other health and safety obligation in line with the operator's licence.
- To monitor and record all drivers EU 90/180 days in the EU, ensuring communication of this information to the planning team.
- To work collaboratively with Traffic Operations to maximise fleet utilisation.
- Monitor, record & update the VOR file notes.
- To ensure by a regular audit process that all paperwork is accurate and maintain records accordingly, driver handbook/bluefolder and sign off.
- To work closely with the Driver Trainer to continuously and effectively monitor and maintain records for professional development and mandated training.
- To work closely with the driver Trainer to annually review all company training documentation, policies & processes to ensure best practice.
- To manage and monitor the vehicle levy charge and keep up to date records of all changes in relation to the levy legislation.
- To record all roadside enforcement/encounter reporting and take any necessary action.
- To record and reconcile ad-blue consumption.
- To be the Microlise master user and set up all new drivers on the Microlise software.
- To conduct the agency compliance audit, ensuring agency drivers being supplied meet our compliance requirements.
- To assist with ensuring kit availability and liaise with subcontractors where necessary.
- To ensure all trucks have the European Community documentation before departure into the EU.
- To produce the compliance board pack for the monthly board meeting, ensuring all details of compliance are communicated clearly and concisely.
Key Skills
- An excellent level of competency in MS Excel, and experience of working with other MS packages
- Previous experience of working within a third-party haulage environment
- Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and professionally over the telephone
- CPC and International CPC advantageous
- Proven experience of a can-do, positive attitude with the proven ability to problem solve
- Previous experience of working in a cost driven organisation and practical knowledge of cost, budgeting, and financial control within a profit & loss environment
- Strong and up to date knowledge of driver compliance rules and regulations
- An ability and desire to work with detail and to be accurate in the approach to work
- The ability to work well under pressure
- History of working with numerical and financial data with GCSE Maths at a Grade C /Level 4 or higher (desirable)
- A knowledge of UK, European and International geography
