Job Description
Transformation Management Office (TMO) Intern

Lightsource bp is a global renewable energy company focused on onshore solar development and energy storage solutions.

Summary

The Transformation Management Intern will support the Global TMO in enabling and delivering enterprise level transformation initiatives, contributing to business transformation, programme and project management, and governance activities.

Duration: 1 June - 21 August 2026 (12 weeks)

Location: London (Hybrid Working - 3 days per week in office)

Responsibilities of the Role
  • Produce and maintain core transformation artefacts (project briefs, business cases, process maps, requirements, user stories, change impact assessments) to support clarity and decision making.
  • Conduct structured problem analysis and risk identification to surface root causes and improvement opportunities.
  • Support user acceptance testing preparations and execution to validate process and technology changes.
  • Provide PMO support: track milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues, and actions, and help maintain plans, dashboards, and status reports.
  • Prepare and collate materials for governance forums, capture decisions and follow up actions to ensure governance integrity.
  • Coordinate across initiatives and stakeholders, organise workshops and meetings, and keep structured logs and trackers to enable timely delivery.
  • Liaise with Enterprise Architecture on due diligence and alignment between business change and technical design.
  • Draft clear communications, capture insights and lessons learned, and provide ad hoc analytical support as required by Global TMO leadership.
Experience & Knowledge Required
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in business, management, engineering, IT, or a related discipline.
  • Prior internship, academic project, or coursework exposure to business transformation, business analysis, change, PMO activities, or operational improvement.
  • Familiarity with basic project management concepts (milestones, risks, dependencies) and common business analysis deliverables (process maps, requirements, user stories).
  • Practical experience using Microsoft Office - especially PowerPoint, Word and Excel - for preparing presentations, reports and trackers.
  • Comfortable working with cross functional and/or geographically dispersed teams; strong interest in transformation and delivery disciplines.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and detail oriented mindset with structured problem solving ability.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for diverse, cross functional stakeholder groups.
  • Proactivity, ownership of tasks, and a collaborative mindset to support team members across geographies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; ability to produce high quality presentations, summaries, and status updates.
Education Required
  • Currently enrolled in or pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, IT, or a related discipline. Practical coursework or project experience in transformation, project management, or business analysis is advantageous.
