Trainee Engineering Estimator

The role:

The Estimator supports the provision of accurate and timely quotations as a critical part of the sales journey. Working with the engineering team, offering excellent technical knowledge, together with a consultative approach to clients, with meticulous organisation and attention to detail.

The duties of the Estimator role:

• Create accurate and timely quotations for a range of customers, ensuring financial targets are met.
• Understand customer requirements, gather manufacturing and material cost data, and compile internal costing sheets as well as understanding customer drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with external sales and internal departments to ensure quotations are aligned with customer needs and business objectives.
• Maintain and improve the internal CRM database, ensuring it is always up to date.
• Analyse performance data to identify opportunities and drive improvements.

What You Will Bring:

• At least two years of experience within engineering.
• The ability to learn and understand customer drawings, specifications, and procedures.
• Knowledge or experience in CNC machining, prismatic milling would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of AS9100 standards.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to devise innovative solutions and manage customer accounts effectively.
• Strong communication skills together with a high level of computer literacy.
