This is a hands-on, developmental role where you'll work closely with experienced management, gaining exposure across sales, operations, stock control, customer service and team leadership.

About the Role

As a Trainee Branch Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of branches while developing the skills needed to lead your own branch in the future. You'll play an important role in driving sales performance, operational efficiency, and excellent customer service.

You'll also have the opportunity to step in and provide cover for Branch Managers, support new branch openings, and contribute to key business projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily branch operations in line with company procedures
• Provide relief cover for Branch Managers when required
• Assist with new branch openings and refurbishments
• Monitor and support stock management and control
• Analyse sales performance using internal systems (K8, Phocas)
• Contribute to branch profitability, margin and cost control
• Support in-store merchandising and marketing initiatives
• Deliver excellent customer service and build strong relationships
• Assist with training and development of team members
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards
• Maintain accurate administration and respond to customer queries
• At least 1 year's sales experience in a trade/customer-facing environment
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A proactive team player with the ability to work independently
• Good IT skills (Excel, email, systems)
• Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel
• Supervisory or training experience
• Knowledge of heating and plumbing products
• Experience with ERP/CRM systems
• Strong commercial awareness and results-driven mindset

Successful candidates who complete the programme will be considered for management roles within a commutable distance.
