The Trainee Assistant Site Manager will always adopt the highest level of professionalism to carry out the duties expected of him/her.

The assessment and continuous training of Trainee Assistant Site Managers will be in accordance with Group Training Matrix applicable at the time.

The Trainee Assistant Site Manager assists with responsibility for the required standards of Health and Safety, protection of works, presentation and quality of the product.

Working to the agreed build programme and financial parameters set by the divisional Board of Directors for the particular development.

Health & Safety
  • Assist with ensuring that Group/Regional Health & Safety procedures are strictly adhered to and to work closely with Stonebond Group Health & Safety team.

To maintain and produce, on request, up-to-date Health & Safety records.

Ensure the project (site) is never left unattended without appropriate cover.

Carry out safety inductions to new members of staff or visitors.

Programme

To deliver project on time and accurately report current position on programme, work to pre-determined time targets.

To carry out the construction in the most effective manner and deal with all obstacles efficiently and appropriately.

Assist with delivery of all aspects of production requirements in strict accordance with relevant technical and planning documentation provided and any subsequent instructions that may be necessary from time to time.

To conform fully to building regulations and warranty providers' requirements (NHBC, Premier, LABC services).

Assist with organisation of regular site production meetings and pre-plan and ensure efficient usage of all resources, including application of quality supervision and communication regime of labour, sub-contractors, plant and materials.

Ensure that anything which is likely to affect the Company's performance is notified to the Site Manager, Construction Manager and Construction Director immediately.

Quality

Build in accordance with relevant standards, Codes of Practice, Building Regulations and warranty requirements in force at the time.

Assist with ensuring the quality of finished product accords with Company and warranty provider expectations.

Fully co-operate with the Company's Customer Care Policy.

Ensure plots are finished to high standard

take ownership of plots under your control until completion.

Assist with ensuring Stonebond QA procedures and Best Practice Guides are always adhered to.

Issue sub-contractor notice of non-conformance.

Provide information on reported defects to minimise our exposure.

Assist with the organisation and control the construction of the development in accordance with the drawings, schedules, ERs, and specification provided and the construction programme.

Presentation

Ensure site is clear, tidy and compliant with corporate standards at all times

Maintain boundaries in a condition that are best in class

Become more involved without prompting, on site presentation, waste management and projection of WIP.

Always represent Stonebond professionally in both personal appearance and conduct.

Keep within preliminary budgets, review of monthly meetings with Contract Surveyor, keep costs under control, by ensuring works are done once and done well.

Engage in consultation with Contract Surveyor.

Issue necessary site instructions to subcontractors with substantial back up.

Minimise material requisitions by accurately forecasting requirements.

Compile accurate labour allocation sheet and issue to Contract Surveyor to enable cost to be passed on to others.

People Management

Ensure all sub-contractors work within the required specification and adhere to general Company Policies.

Ensure all directly employed personnel work within the required specification and adhere to general Company Policies.

Ensure that procedures and controls laid down by the divisional Directors and Construction Managers are fully implemented by all site personnel.

Deal with the public in a polite and professional manner.

Accompany Build Inspector and Site Manager on all Key Stage Inspections.

Liaise with Clerk of Works, ensuring his comments are carried out.

Make courtesy calls and visits to customers in liaison with Customer Care.

To work in partnership with other departments and proactively drive communication and problem solving with them so you can achieve plan, using clear communication showing leadership and taking ownership of issues.

To have read, always understood and comply with Company Policies and Procedures.

Attend training courses when booked.

Contribute to ensuring accurate production/progress returns are updated and sent to the Construction Manager and Construction Director in accordance with Company Policy.

Assist with ensuring site security and good practice is maintained at all times.

Assist with ensuring sensible level of stock control in accordance with build requirements including proper checking and recording of deliveries.

Ensure all site administration is carried out in accordance with Stonebond Procedures

Carry out any other reasonable tasks in accordance with operational needs as requested by your managers.

Training Apprenticeship Standard for Construction Site Supervisor Level 4 with Learning Skills Partnership.

Qualifications required

Full UK Driving Licence. Maths and English at grade C/4 and above (or equivalent) required as well as a Level 3 qualification (A Levels, BTEC, T Level, etc.).
