Trading Manager

I am currently supporting an IPP who develop, build and operate renewable energy projects, in particular solar PV projects across Southern Europe, in their search for a Trading Manager to join their growing team. This role will ideally be based in Madrid as they have their Head Office there, but they are flexible with it being remote work if you are based in Italy, Portugal, or the UK, with some travel included when required.

This role of Trading Manager will be responsible for keeping a pulse on energy markets, trading, developing relationships with off-takers (utilities, traders, corporates), negotiating and executing hedges for the pipeline, in addition to contributing to the offtrake strategy. This role will also work with other functions such as Legal, Finance, and Asset Management.

Key responsibilities:
- Trading and bulding relationships with potential counterparties in the market, as well as identifying new deal opportunities according to market timing.
- Structuring and executing short-term hedging opportunities to maximize value for the company and manage the performance of existing hedging contracts, assess the impacts of project financing contracts and cashflows.
- Operation through electronic trading systems and ETRMs, in addition to identifying and delivering opportunities to sell and monetize environmental attributes

Desirable skills:
- 4 years minimum experience in trading related roles, in addition to having a technical background and management skills
- Fluent English and an additional European language is a plus
- Must be able to articulate themselves well as this role is responsible for raising the company profile at industry events.
