Job Title: Technical Product Owner - Plan Data Assets
Locations: New Jersey, USA and Limerick, Ireland (hybrid role)
Job Function: Data Analytics & Computational Sciences; Sub Function: Multi Family Data Analytics & Computational Sciences.
Job OverviewThis is a hybrid role based in J&J's New Jersey and Ireland offices. The Technical Product Owner (TPO) - Plan Data Assets is accountable for the technology delivery, deployment, and operational support of Bronze, Silver and Gold data assets for the Plan function.
Responsibilities- Technical Product & Squad Ownership - Lead the squad responsible for Plan, Silver and Gold data assets, including backlog refinement, sequencing and technical prioritisation.
- Roadmap Ownership - Own the technical roadmap for Plan data assets in alignment with the Data Product Owner and Information Architect.
- OKR Accountability - Be accountable for squad OKRs, driving delivery against quality, reliability and timeliness targets.
- User Story Translation - Translate business and product requirements into clear technical user stories with defined acceptance criteria.
- Data Quality, Standards & Governance - Ensure consistent application of standards for creation, enhancement and remediation of Plan Silver and Gold assets and enforce code quality, metadata, mapping and lineage standards.
- Compliance Partnership - Partner with Information and Solution Architects to ensure compliance with architecture, security and data governance policies.
- Technical Gatekeeper - Approve Plan data assets prior to release into production.
- Release Planning - Lead release planning for Plan data assets focusing on CI/CD, SDLC best practices, automation, testing, versioning and controlled releases.
- Operational Excellence - Ensure consistent application of code quality, testing and deployment standards across data pipelines and drive progressive automation of testing and release processes.
- Technical Leadership & Risk Management - Balance technical debt reduction with ongoing feature delivery, review and challenge technical designs, and proactively mitigate risks related to upstream Plan systems, schema changes and metric integrity.
- AI, GenAI & Advanced Analytics Enablement - Apply AI and GenAI literacy to identify opportunities for AI enabled analytics, semantic search and insight generation while maintaining governance and traceability.
- Prompt Engineering Guidance - Provide guidance on effective and responsible prompt engineering to improve productivity across analysis, documentation and quality checks.
- AI Governance Alignment - Ensure AI enabled use cases align with enterprise AI governance, risk and compliance standards.
- Ontology & Semantic Modelling Collaboration - Collaborate with Information Architects on ontology driven and semantic modelling approaches, and support the technology build of semantic layers to improve data reuse and AI consumption.
- Agile Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement - Operate effectively within Agile delivery models, maintain accountability for delivery outcomes, and act as a trusted bridge between business objectives and technical implementation.
- Education - Bachelor's Degree in Computing or a related discipline.
- Overall Experience - 5+ years working with data platforms, analytics or data engineering in an enterprise environment.
- Leadership Experience - 3+ years in a technical leadership or senior contributor role with accountability for delivery outcomes, technical quality and design decisions.
- Regulated Environment Experience - Experience operating within regulated or controlled data environments with formal SDLC, data governance and release controls.
- Data & Platform Expertise (5+ years) - Hands on experience designing, building or owning data pipelines and analytical data assets (Silver/Gold layers).
- Technical Leadership & Delivery (3+ years) - Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating a technical squad or delivery team.
- CI/CD, SDLC & Operational Excellence (3+ years) - Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines for data or software delivery.
- Domain & Business Knowledge (3+ years preferred) - Experience with Plan, Supply Chain or Operations data, including upstream planning or execution systems such as ERP or OMP.
- AI, GenAI & Advanced Analytics Enablement (1+ year) - Hands on exposure to AI and GenAI concepts applied to analytics or data platforms, and working knowledge of LLMs, RAG, AI assisted analytics, insight generation or semantic search.

- €70,100.00 - €121,210.00 annual base pay.
