Theatre Housekeeper

The post holder is required to support the clinical and non-clinical Theatre team and be responsible for the coordination of all patient facility services in the Theatre area, ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment.

Job responsibilities

You will play a key role in maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and organisation within the ward environment and equipment in accordance with infection control procedures and guidance, and assist with the ordering of stock and arrangements for this.

Assist in the catering for patients and ensure that health and safety and legal compliance is maintained in line with statutory requirements.

Provide oversight to the Facilities staff working on the ward and aid these staff groups when required.

Ensure that all essential and non medical equipment is clean, serviceable and available for use, and co ordinate timely cleaning of vacated bed spaces/side rooms.

Monitor quality through appropriate auditing tools and ensure that repair tickets are logged.

Work closely with Facilities Services staff, supervisors, other departments and support services, actively monitor quality standards and ensure reported deficiencies are rectified promptly.

Support the delivery of high quality, cost effective services in line with the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021, National standards for healthcare food and drink 2022, PLACE and the CQC.

No previous experience required. You will receive comprehensive training and induction, and progress along the salary scale after gaining experience.

The team

PEOC theatres have 5 theatres covering a wide range of orthopaedic specialities: hip, knee, shoulder, spinal, paediatric foot and ankle, and hand surgery.

Working Pattern

Monday to Friday 7.30am-8pm and Saturday 7.30-6pm. Pay may include additional enhancements depending on your shift pattern.

Salary: £25,760 to £27,476 a year per annum pro rata.
