Test Manager & Test Release Coordinator

Location: Belgium (onsite + homeworking)
Duration: 6 months + Extensions
Start date: ASAP
Workload: 50% onsite - hybrid schedule (week 1: 2 days onsite, week 2: 3 days onsite, alternating)
Note: Homeworking is only allowed from within Belgium. Onsite days at the client are not consecutive.

This is a *Brussels* based role with an excellent immediate start within a Global Consulting company working on *supervising the testing activities, coordinating test and release planning, and ensuring quality across all testing phases*.

About the Role

For our client, we are looking for an experienced Test Manager & Test Release Coordinator to support the Project Stream within a large corporate environment. The consultant will supervise the testing activities, coordinate test and release planning, and ensure quality across all testing phases.

This position requires a strong leader who can align teams, manage stakeholders, and drive high-quality delivery.

Mission Context

You will act as both Test Manager and Test Release Coordinator for the Projects team, overseeing testing activities and ensuring smooth and timely deployment coordination.

Function Description

Principal Assignments

  • Supervise the testing team dedicated to the project.

  • Monitor and steer test phases together with the project team.

  • Manage and monitor costs, estimation, and actual budgets.

  • Guarantee application quality throughout the testing life cycle.

  • Coordinate closely with tribes and IT teams.

  • Participate in steering and governance committees.

  • Support and monitor team members.

  • Contribute to the organisational structure of the activity, including:

  • Reviewing deliverables

  • Updating monitoring tools (cost, planning)

  • Defining the role of the ratification team

  • Introducing project reporting

  • Conducting post-project analysis and lessons-learned reviews

Principal Duties

  • Lead testers and ensure the correct level of detail in test cases and test data usage for all migrated assets within the Project.

  • Identify functional and business stakeholders to gather test case requirements and protect the team from overload.

  • Organise and follow up on the release schedule with the Release Manager to ensure test environments and deployments are available on time.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with the IT Tribe Lead as the spokesperson for the testing team.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant testing and test management experience.

Technical Experience

Mandatory

  • Experience with testing tools and reporting tools

  • Experience with test data management

  • Experience creating test data while respecting data-privacy regulations

Preferable

  • Experience in testing Mainframe screens

  • Knowledge of release processes and tooling (high-level understanding for planning)

Business Experience

Mandatory

  • Skilled with office automation tools for project presentation and follow-up

  • Familiar with project management and project leadership techniques

  • Knowledge of Agile frameworks and tribe-based organisational structures

  • Ability to motivate and coordinate multidisciplinary teams

  • Strong release planning and oversight capability

  • Strong presentation and communication skills towards management

  • Ability to motivate teams towards shared objectives

Preferable

  • Knowledge of the loan industry or the financial industry

  • Experience with cross-business projects

Soft Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management capability

  • Commitment, pragmatism, analytical mindset, and clarity in communication

  • Ability to prioritise with a strategic and holistic view

  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration

  • Strong team leadership, delegation, and motivational abilities

  • Ability to work efficiently with onsite and remote teams across multiple countries (Belgium, Netherlands, France, Spain, Poland, Romania)

Languages

  • Dutch: Preferable basic knowledge; fluent English is acceptable

  • French: Preferable basic knowledge; fluent English is acceptable

  • English: Native level or very strong written and spoken proficiency

Education

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in IT, finance, or a related field.

Certifications (nice to have)

  • CAST, CSQA, ISTQB, CMST
