Test Automation Engineer (Python)

MCS Group is working with a pioneer in renewable energy and green technology as they look for an Test Automation Engineer to join them. The role will focus on firmware and embedded systems testing, with automation at its core. You will join on a temporary contract for circa 12 months, with some extension possibility. The client is Lisburn based, so you will spend time on-site but with some working from home options as well.

The Role

Design, build and maintain test automation frameworksDevelop automated tests using Python and Robot FrameworkTest micro-services within Docker-based environmentsSupport CI/CD processes using tools such as JenkinsPerform detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysisCollaborate with engineering teams to improve test coverage and quality

The Person

Solid experience in firmware test and automation engineeringHands-on expertise with Python, Robot Framework, and DockerExperience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins)Familiarity with Selenium or similar frameworksExperience using GitHub or other configuration management toolsExcellent problem-solving, communication and organisational skillsAbility to work autonomously and manage multiple prioritiesExperience with embedded systems and Linux environments would be preferred

Salary: £45k - £50k (Depending on experience, paid as a rate per hour for the duration of the temporary post)
Duration: 12 months
