Test Analyst

ARAG UK has an exciting new opportunity for a Test Analyst to join the Scrum Agile team in our Bristol office. This role involves supporting the continuous development of new software as well as maintaining legacy systems. The development includes both in-house and third-party systems, along with their integration.

As a Test Analyst, you will ensure Quality Assurance throughout all stages of development, enhance sprint velocity, and implement the QA Strategy and Plan. You will contribute to user story requirements and acceptance criteria to ensure clarity, conciseness, and testability.

You will also be responsible for:

• Creating and executing manual and automated test plans to ensure systems meet functional specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Identifying defects or issues for triage and rectification prior to deployment, and completing functional testing of software modules and integrated systems.
• Leading User Acceptance Testing with end users, collecting feedback, and validating the delivered product, while monitoring and reporting test execution progress.
• Supporting all system and integration testing activities aligned with business and system requirements for new and updated systems.
• Providing high-level testing estimates during Feature Elaboration and accurate estimates during Planning, considering capacity and velocity.
• Authoring test scenarios and scripts for comprehensive coverage, accessible to non-Testers.
• Utilizing methodologies such as Test Driven Development, Business Driven Development, and Gherkin-based testing.
• Raising defects, writing concise defect reports, and collaborating with Developers and Business Analysts to investigate issues and ensure clarity in acceptance criteria.
• Working with the Scrum team during solution design to optimize user experience while minimizing risks.
• Leading UAT activities on Release Candidates, including scripting, supporting end users, and triaging feedback.
• Creating and maintaining automated regression tests to ensure ongoing software quality and reduce manual regression testing.
• Using technologies like Swagger, Postman, Redgate, Playwright, and Gherkin to automate testing activities.
• Preparing structured test scenarios and scripts, prioritizing based on business or technical needs, and monitoring test execution.
• Coordinating re-testing of defects through desk re-tests or walkthroughs with third-party providers.
• Maintaining relevant test documentation such as scripts, schedules, reports, and progress charts.
• Consulting with business units on test planning, activities, and results analysis.
• Managing time, risks, issues, quality assurance, and change processes.

We seek individuals with excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams, capable of working independently or as part of a team to meet expectations. Candidates should:

• Hold an ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certification.
• Contribute to solution design, focusing on user experience and accessibility.
• Provide high-level estimates for features and projects, analyzing requirements for validity and feasibility.
• Have a strong understanding of the testing lifecycle, objectives, criteria, and risk-based testing approaches.
• Utilize automation tools and methodologies effectively.
• Experience with MS Azure DevOps for managing acceptance criteria, test plans, and results.

Desirable but not essential skills include experience in regulated environments, knowledge of testing standards, diagnostic skills, automation testing expertise, and familiarity with tools like TFS/Azure DevOps.
