Job Description

The Housing Options Service provides advice and assistance under the Council's corporate duty to help clients who are homeless and who are in housing need. This is a demanding and busy Service.

There is a current vacancy for a specialist role to complement and support the work of the Service.

About the job

The Tenancy Relations Officer will work with private landlords and contract holders to provide advice on best practice in the private rental sector, and with the aim of prevention of homelessness and enforcement of legal rights and obligations.

The Post Holder will have responsibility for the investigation and prosecution of offences under the Protection from Eviction Act 1977.

What We Are Looking For From You

You will have a sound knowledge of Housing legislation and have good knowledge of procedures and legislation in relation to harassment and illegal eviction.

You will have experience of providing excellent customer service, work well in a team and have a flexible approach. You will have exceptional communication and IT skills and the ability to resolve disputes in a positive and constructive manner.
