Temporary Store Assistant - Nottingham, Søstrene Grene

This contract is for 20 hours per week and will require availability to work evenings and weekends, in accordance with the monthly rota. This is a Fixed-term role until 20/9/2026

About the role

As a Temporary Store Assistant at Søstrene Grene, you'll enable our customers to experience the wonderful world of Anna and Clara with all their senses, from the moment they walk through the door to the moment they leave inspired.

In this varied and hands on role, you'll work alongside a team that shares a passion for supporting and celebrating each other, making work; feel less like work. Your focus will be on providing exceptional customer service whilst ensuring that our store is always replenished.

You will also:

• Maintain outstanding housekeeping and standards throughout the store, including on the shop floor and behind the scenes.
• Provide excellent customer service and operate the cash register, greeting each customer with a smile and ensuring they have a memorable experience.
• Unpack and process our products onto the shopfloor. This involves using heavy roll cages to make sure our store is always full of wonderful finds.
• Serve customers and ensure every customer has a positive experience in store.
• Handwrite signs to give the store and shopping experience a personal touch (we'll guide you on Anna & Clara's handwriting style!)
• Play a key role in representing Søstrene Grene's values and helping the store thrive, all while being the friendly face of our brand in every interaction.
• Maintain health, hygiene, and safety standards whilst on shift.

What we're looking for

As a Temporary Store Assistant, you like to put a smile on people's faces and make sure their day is a little more wonderful than it was before entering the store. You enjoy an active working day, making sure the shelves always look perfect and the customers find what they need, within everything from home interior items to hobby supplies, candles, kitchen products and furniture. You are creative and have a keen sense of aesthetics, but lifting boxes is no problem for you either.

• Someone with a kind, helpful, and considerate approach who treats customers and team members with care.
• Experience in a similar customer-focused role is desirable.
• Flexibility with availability, including the ability to work both weekdays and weekends, as well as early and late shifts.
