Data Coordinator - Temporary (Contract)

Location & Working Hours

Beoley / Redditch, full time Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00, on site. Pay £12.71 per hour.

Job Summary

As a Temporary Data Coordinator within the Innovation Services team, you will organise and transfer chemical, ingredient, and safety information into a centralised database. You will maintain regulatory, COSHH, and technical documentation, ensuring accuracy across Safety Data Sheets and related records. This role is well suited for those with an interest in science, chemistry, or engineering who enjoy handling technical information and systematic filing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately transfer and maintain COSHH, chemical, ingredient, and material data within company databases.
  • Review and extract key information from Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Certificates of Analysis (COA), and other technical documentation.
  • Ensure laboratory teams have access to accurate ingredient and material information to support COSHH assessments and risk assessments.
  • Assist with the organisation and maintenance of technical records and documentation.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, checklists, and process flowcharts.
  • Identify missing or inconsistent data and collaborate with technical teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling technical information.
  • Support continuous improvement projects across Innovation Services.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Quality, Regulatory, Technical, and Innovation departments.
About You / Qualifications
  • Organised, analytical, and thrives with structured information.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory or technical environment is desirable.
  • Interest in chemistry, materials science, engineering, or laboratory environments.
  • Basic understanding of, or willingness to learn, COSHH principles and chemical safety.
  • Ability to interpret and work with technical documentation following structured guidance.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent data entry accuracy.
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel, including data entry, filtering, and formatting.
  • Willingness to learn new systems such as Smartsheet or similar database tools.
  • Logical, methodical approach with strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with technical and laboratory teams.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and follow established procedures.
