Overview
We are seeking a professional Temporary Contract HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team to cover a long term absence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a flatbed lorry to deliver goods across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service. The position involves delivering goods in a timely manner while adhering to all relevant road and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a Class 2 HGV lorry, primarily with a flatbed trailer, ensuring compliance with all legal and safety standards
Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, maintaining punctuality and professionalism
Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any maintenance or safety issues
Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs
Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays
Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles
Must have strong driving skills with a clean driving licence for HGV Class 2 vehicles
Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
Good knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial vehicle operation
Excellent organisational skills to manage routes and schedules efficiently
Ability to work independently, demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail during deliveries
