Applications are invited for a Temporary Consultant Neurologist position at Letterkenny, Co. Donegal.

The position will be at the Memory Assessment and Support Service (MASS), located at the Integrated Care Programme for Older People (ICPOP) Ambulatory Hub Donegal / Letterkenny University Hospital.

Contract:Specified Purpose Contract for a period of 12 months or until the post is filled on a permanent basis

Eligibility Criteria:Relevant Consultant experience and active Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council is essential at time of application

Service Details:For an individual, their family and other supporters, dementia is a life changing condition that requires responses to support the person across the illness trajectory. With the development of the new Memory Assessment and Support Service (MASS) within Donegal, as specified within the Model of Care for Dementia in Ireland, the entry point to receiving the right care and treatment by the right service will be implemented by providing patients with a comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and post diagnostic supports within the community and acute settings with provision of an in reach service to Letterkenny University Hospital. The Consultant Neurologist will be the Clinical Lead for the MASS and will be supported by a Multidisciplinary Team. The consultant will work closely with the Donegal Operational Lead for the Integrated Care Programme for Older People (ICPOP) to progress the MASS service locally. The ICPOP Operational Lead provides operational governance for the MASS.
