What you'll do

• Develop, implement and monitor environmental, health & safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations and company standards and values.
• Establish, maintain and audit the Environmental and Health & Safety Management System.
• Determine and address site EHS issues and employee concerns.
• Perform incident management activities including injury management investigations and associated record keeping.
• Identify, implement and track corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Perform EHS risk assessments and make recommendations to control hazards.
• Create, implement and maintain EHS training programs for health, safety and the environment.
• Develop appropriate emergency plans and response capabilities.
• Stay abreast of new EHS government regulations as they are promulgated and of new industry developments (best practices).
• Build relationships with key departments to foster support for Environmental, Health and Safety programs.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Health and Safety or related field with 5+ years of experience in an Environmental, Health and Safety role within the pharmaceutical industry or similar industry.
• Thorough knowledge of EHS legislation for a pharmaceutical facility operating within Ireland/Europe.
• Knowledge of behavioural based safety programs.
• Operational safety experience: Safe Systems of Work, EHS permitting, Fatality Prevention Programme, Control of Hazardous Energy - Lock Out Tag Out.
• Ability to lead and direct others and work as part of a team.
• Logical problem solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with a strong ability to produce technical reports.
