Technical Writer

Department: Product Research & Development

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: UK, Lincoln

Reporting To: Peter Hommel


Description

This is a role responsible for producing Help Guides and Release Notes for the Orderwise product releases.


Responsibilities
  • Create & maintain appropriate help guides for the Orderwise software being tested.
  • Review and amend Release Notes for each Orderwise Release to ensure they are complete and of the required standard.
  • Liaise with QA Engineers and Software Engineers to understand the nature of changes/new features so they can be documented appropriately in the Help Guides and Release Notes.
  • Liaise with QA Engineers and Software Engineers when required to ensure issues are understood, effectively recorded and communicated to ensure a satisfactory resolution.
  • Participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support other colleagues in their development and training.
  • Suggest ways to improve existing processes within the QA team.

  • Hands-on experience in using authoring software tools, ideally MadCap Flare.
  • Working knowledge of Git-based source code repositories.
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Hands-on QA experience.
