Technical Service Chemist

Technical Service Chemist - Greater Manchester

Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 (dependent on experience). Term: Permanent.

The role is within a well established manufacturer of speciality chemical products for the polymer industry.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a laboratory based, hands on technical service chemist and act as a direct link between customers and the company.
• Liaise directly with customers and suppliers to provide technical and application support.
• Respond to technical enquiries and investigate and resolve complaints.
• Provide product training and support internally and externally as a technical & applications expert.
• Conduct application and stability testing of new and existing products using a range of techniques.
• Assist with the development and implementation of new products.
• Travel throughout the UK (and possibly Europe) to visit customers for onsite technical support and develop new business.
• Support development projects for new and existing products.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or a related field.
• Previous experience providing technical support and hands on formulation/development of polymer products.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Strong organisation and time management abilities.
• Enthusiastic, eager to learn and self motivated.
