Technical Sales Engineer - North West

Are you an experienced Technical Sales Engineer with an
engineering background and a passion for helping customers
improve performance, reduce costs and find the right technical
solutions? Or Applications are also welcomed from technically
strong engineers who have the personality and commercial aptitude
to move further into a customer-facing sales role.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established, global
engineering business with a strong reputation in the metalworking
and cutting tools sector. You'll take responsibility for
developing an established customer base across the North West,
while identifying and converting new business opportunities.

You'll spend around four days per week visiting customers, so
you'll need to be based within approximately one hour of the
North East territory.

The Role

Working closely with end users and distribution partners, you
will:

Manage and develop existing customer relationships across your
territory
Identify and win new business opportunities
Promote a comprehensive range of cutting tools and metalworking
solutions

Provide customers with practical technical advice and support
Carry out cutting tool trials and tests to demonstrate
performance
Read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
Identify opportunities to improve productivity and deliver
measurable cost savings
Work closely with distribution partners to develop joint
opportunities
Build strong, long-term relationships with customers at both
technical and commercial level

What We're Looking For:

You'll ideally have a strong engineering or manufacturing
background, combined with technical product knowledge and/or
previous sales experience.

We're particularly interested in candidates who have:

Experience within engineering, machining, metalworking,
manufacturing or cutting tools

Strong technical understanding and the ability to confidently
discuss applications with customers
Previous technical sales, applications or customer-facing
engineering experience
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
A proactive, commercially focused approach
Strong negotiation and organisational skills
The resilience and drive to develop new business as well as
manage existing accounts

Applications are also welcomed from technically strong engineers
who have the personality and commercial aptitude to move further
into a customer-facing sales role.
