As a Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) at TE Connectivity, you will play a key role in supporting customers in the UK and Ireland utilities sector by combining your technical expertise with customer interaction, working closely with product management, R&D, sales, and engineering teams to deliver technical support, demonstrations, and application engineering that ensure our products meet customer needs.

  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations, including hands on assembly of LV, MV, and HV cable accessories.
  • Prepare and manage technical documentation, such as bills of materials and assembly instructions.
  • Provide application engineering support to adapt existing products to meet customer requirements.
  • Advise customers and internal sales teams on product selection.
  • Support customers during the introduction and installation of new and existing products - on site and at customer training centres.
  • Deliver training to customer trainers on product use and installation.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and R&D during the new product development process, sharing customer and application insights.
  • Install prototype cable accessories for type testing.
  • Provide technical input into the tendering process.
Your ideal background:
  • Background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Completed a craft apprenticeship in electrical engineering and ideally qualified to BTEC level in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience working within the power utility or cable/accessory industry (preferred).
  • Strong practical skills with an aptitude for problem solving.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Valid driving license and passport, with flexibility to travel internationally as required.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and deliver solutions under time/workload constraint.
