Join Our Team as a Technical Officer - Engineering Manufacturing
Are you passionate about hands-on technical work and supporting innovation in engineering education? We're looking for a Technical Officer to join our Science and Engineering Manufacturing team within Technical Services.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment supporting students, staff, and researchers across a wide range of engineering disciplines.
What You'll Be Doing- Supporting teaching and learning in Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronic Engineering.
- Providing expert advice and services, including electronic project design and skills training.
- Collaborating with technical teams across the faculty to deliver high-quality support.
- Contributing to research, consultancy, and knowledge exchange activities.
- Promoting continuous improvement and excellent customer service.
- Experience in electrical and electronic engineering.
- Preferably, skills in PCB design and manufacture.
- Familiarity with mains power systems (desirable).
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety in lab/workshop settings.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive, supportive approach to working with students and staff.
- Do you enjoy solving technical challenges and working collaboratively?

- Can you adapt to different tasks and work flexibly across teams?
- Are you driven to delivering excellent service and continuous improvement?
