The successful candidate will use statutory powers to regulate and improve conditions within private sector homes, applying delegated enforcement responsibilities in line with established policy.

They will support the delivery of housing assistance programmes aimed at renewal, sustainability, and maximising investment in the housing stock, while demonstrating strong knowledge of construction, housing legislation, and the competent enforcement of legal standards.

They will progress a varied portfolio of housing assistance schemes, provide expert advice through face to face customer interactions, and maintain exceptional accuracy in record keeping and data management. As the first point of contact for service users, they will manage a diverse and often complex caseload with effective time management, offering guidance to colleagues and contributing to the wider Private Sector Housing function.
