Job Description

Summary:
Quadris provides IT Managed Services and IT infrastructure solutions to customers across the UK, Europe, and APAC regions. Customers include private corporations and government organisations, mainly in the healthcare sector. Our IT infrastructure solutions primarily involve the Dell product range, Cisco networking, Citrix, Microsoft, and our Quadris Cloud and on-premise platform. Role Overview:
As a Technical Engineer for Infrastructure, you are responsible for the implementation, management, and support of the IT infrastructure across our client base, which includes traditional three-tier, hyperconverged, and Multi-Tenant Cloud environments. The role requires strong technical expertise, troubleshooting skills, and a customer-centric mindset to deliver exceptional IT services and solutions.

Team and Development:
You will work within a small, experienced team led by the Infrastructure Solutions Competency Manager and senior engineers. While the primary focus is on server infrastructure, there will be opportunities to gain exposure to wider system design and implementation by shadowing senior team members. Documentation and record keeping are essential, so excellent organisational skills are required.

Work Environment:
The position offers flexibility across various environments, including customer sites, UK data centres, our Stockport office, and remote working. You may choose your work location based on project needs and personal preference, with some travel across EMEA and the USA for international projects and client engagement.

Working Hours:
This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with shifts between 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. UK time. Flexibility outside these hours may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement technical solutions from our approved technology stack, recommending new technologies where applicable.
  2. Produce and maintain high-quality documentation.
  3. Collaborate with the Project Management Team to ensure project delivery.
  4. Act as an escalation point for Managed Services Support teams.
  5. Follow incident and change management processes.
  6. Continuously develop technical skills through training and knowledge sharing.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid driving license and vehicle
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Windows and Linux server administration
  • Knowledge of Linux OS and open-source tech
  • Server racking, stacking, and cabling skills
  • Proficiency with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM)
  • Strong networking skills (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPN, firewalls)
  • Experience with enterprise backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, Nakivo)
  • Knowledge of storage tech (SAN, NAS)
  • Proficiency in VMware ESXi and vCenter
  • Understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to produce clear, compliant documentation
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and clients
  • Ability to obtain SC and/or NPPV3 clearance

Highly Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in MSP or Professional Services, understanding of ITIL
  • Knowledge of Dell EMC storage solutions
  • Experience with hyper-converged infrastructure (VxRail, vSAN, Nutanix)
  • Disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Infrastructure automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell)
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator Certification
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • Experience with Docker in Debian-based environments
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
