Technical Engineer

Job Title: Technical Manager (Design & engineering)

• Starting Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Innotech Partners are collaborating with an established Gas Services Company who are involved in the maintenance of or gas and steam boilers within a commercial and industrial settings. They are seeking an enthusiastic Technical Engineer to join them on a permanent full time basis.

Duties: The position of Technical Engineer provides support for the CAD Technicians and engineers and other staff.

The role

• Providing technical support to the design team & workshop engineers.
• Providing technical descriptions of products and their components
• Supervising the preparation of technical drawings and specifications for both workshop and customer use
• Ensuring compliance with standards and methods during the production of technical drawings
• Facilitating communication between customers, suppliers, and approved Engineering Company
• Proposing resolutions to customer inquiries and issues
• Supervising the preparation of revised drawings as necessary
• Conducting occasional site visits for installation surveys and client consultations
• Overseeing the preparation of work schedules and project management
• Providing technical support and designing systems to meet customer requirements
• Assisting CAD Technicians and supporting the Sales Team with quotations
• Coordinating with suppliers, engineers, sales department, and managing director
• Designing Plantrooms and Containers
• Ability to comprehend technical drawings and effectively communicate with customers
• Managing transportation arrangements
• Maintaining a comprehensive document audit trail
• Undertaking any additional duties as required

Skills & Qualifications

• Desirable: Master's in Energy Engineering (MEng).
• Ability to multitask and deliver excellent customer service.
• Beneficial: Experience in designing products to British Standards, ASME, and European Standards.
• Beneficial: Ability to design boilers, pressure vessels, and systems; training provided.
• Strong communication skills across all channels.
• Flexible and enthusiastic about leading projects.
• Methodical, organized, and proactive.
• Proficient in database systems and Office packages (Office 365, Excel, Access).

Proficient in any of the following would be desirable:

• SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
• Autodesk Inventor
• Autodesk Showcase
• AutoCAD and AutoCAD Mechanical 3D Cad

Extra details

• Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
• 28 Days per annum inclusive of bank holidays
• 1 hour for lunch.
• Days of work are Monday to Friday. Hours of work are 8.30 am to 5pm (4.30pm on Friday)
