Technical Cutover Implementation Lead 6 Month Contract (Inside IR35) Hybrid, Havant/Reading Starting ASAP

About the Role:Harvey Nash's utilities sector client seeks an experienced Technical Cutover Lead to work with the Cutover Manager to ensure the successful implementation of the Cutover plan. This role requires coordinating resources in executing planned activities in alignment with programme timelines against business requirements. It involves close collaboration with teams across the programme, including IT operations, business units, and external 3rd parties, to ensure cutover activities align with programme goals and timelines. The Lead identifies and resolves issues that arise during the cutover lifecycle, making informed decisions to mitigate risks and escalating issues to ensure smooth resolution and risk controlled cutover.
Main Duties: Cutover Strategy & Planning- Lead the end-to-end cutover process, including planning, preparation, execution, and post go live stabilization against the cutover strategy.
- Work with the Cutover Manager to define detailed cutover plans covering technical, functional, and business activities.
- Collaborate with PMO, release management, and technical teams for integration with non Oracle systems.
- Conduct workshops on cutover activities with all related project streams and business, collecting appropriate cutover steps to be performed and working closely with the workgroups to document the integrated cutover plan for each application.
- Lead integrated cutover activities for pre Go Live, Go Live, and post Go Live for the cut over cycles.
- Ensure alignment with the key program milestones (PB1, PB2, SIT, FVT, PCT, Penetration Testing, Regression, Dress Rehearsal, and Go Live).
- Coordinate data migration, integrations, environment transitions, and payroll cutover activities.
- Oversee the coexistence model between Oracle HCM Cloud and Oracle EBS for non HR/Payroll functions.
- Matrix manage technical teams to prepare for cutover readiness, including OIC integration (and any 3rd party coordination), data validation, and reconciliation.
- Test robust rollback and contingency plans.
- Ensure entry and exit criteria for each cutover are well articulated, documented, and agreed with all stakeholders.
- Act as the central point of contact for cutover readiness across internal IT and project workstreams, system integrators, and business stakeholders.
- Facilitate decision making around cutover risks, issues, and escalations.
- Communicate cutover readiness status to program leadership and governance forum.
- Prepare and present cutover status reports, dashboards, and executive updates.
- Ensure and enforce entry and exit criteria for cutover rehearsals and production go live are met.
- Track progress against plan and manage issues in real time during cutover execution.
- Ensure compliance with project governance, methodologies, and change control processes.
- Lead post cutover review and lessons learned.
- Proven experience as a Cutover Lead on large scale ERP/HCM programs, ideally Oracle HCM Cloud with Oracle EBS coexistence.
- Strong understanding of HR and Payroll business processes, payroll parallel testing.
- Hands on experience overseeing data migration, integrations (OIC), and environment management in Oracle projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex dependencies between Cloud and on premise systems.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills in high pressure cutover environments.
- Clear communicator with proven experience managing 3rd party system integrators and proactive risk management.
- Knowledge of release and environment management disciplines in Oracle Cloud implementations.
- Proven track record of similar role on large scale ERP programme.
- Background in Oracle Cloud & EBS (HR/Payroll/ERP modules).
- Experience managing dress rehearsals and cutover.
- Strong understanding of HCM Cloud transitions.
