Salary: £42 / hr

Team Manager - Child Protection

Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Job type: Day to Day Cover
Duration: 3-6 months with potential for extension based on performance

We are looking to recruit a Team Manager - Child Protection within the Social Care industry in Stoke.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in children and families work, including statutory child protection
  • Literacy and numeracy to the required level
  • DipSW or CQSW equivalent
  • Post-qualification supervision of social workers or students
  • Basic training in management competencies
  • Children Act/Child Protection training
Knowledge
  • Child care legislation, relevant guidance, regulations and best practice standards
  • Family Court procedures
  • DOH Guidance, Working Together to Safeguard Children and Assessment Framework
  • Issues arising from child abuse inquiries
  • SSD responsibilities in relation to children and families
  • Health and safety policies and procedures
Responsibilities and Skills
  • Plan, manage and review service delivery
  • Recruit, manage and develop staff
  • Manage change and stress in self and others
  • Produce written and verbal reports to required standards
  • Develop and maintain appropriate recording systems, and train others to do so
  • Work in multi-agency contexts and collaborate with families
  • Chair meetings involving service users and professionals
  • Analyse data and make decisions, delegating tasks appropriately
  • Organise effectively
  • Budget management
  • Maintain professional boundaries with colleagues and service users, ensuring team members do the same
