The post of full time Team Administrator is required in the Mental Health Liaison Service (MHLS). This position is part of the Urgent Care Team for Mental Health Services in Bolton and operates from the Royal Bolton Hospital, part of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
This role is the first point of contact for service users attending A&E who are in mental health crisis. The team provides 24/7 emergency assessment and consists of Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychologists, mental health practitioners, health care support workers and a small administrative team.
Main Duties of the JobTo support the Senior Medical Administrator in delivering comprehensive administrative services to the clinical teams within the MHLS, Bolton Directorate.
- Answer and manage calls from service users, carers, relatives, and health and social care professionals.
- Enter new referrals and process completed referrals / assessments in the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) System, ensuring accurate and up to date data.
- Send GP letters in a timely manner via the electronic system.
- Take minutes of team meetings and distribute agendas and minutes.
- Order resources for the team and maintain stock levels.
- Process emails within the admin inbox and handle internal and external mail.
- Maintain the updated contact database and schedules for the team.
- English and Maths literacy.
- ECDL or equivalent IT competence.
- NVQ in Business Administration or Customer Service.
- Background in administration.
- Experience working in a busy office environment.
- Patient administration experience and familiarity with medical terminology.
- Knowledge of data quality and performance metrics.
- Proficiency with IT systems, including Word, Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
- Minute taking ability.
- Experience using the EPR system.
- Ability to prioritise and plan conflicting work demands.
- Knowledge of the Data Protection Act.
- Understanding of the healthcare sector and NHS operations.
