Teaching Assistant (Sport & Engagement Focus)

Location: Accrington, Lancashire
Salary: £98.89 - £115.89 per day
Contract: Full-time / Term-Time

Responsibilities

• Act as an active mentor and create a positive, high energy learning environment.


• Support a small class of up to 8 pupils and deliver individualized support.


• Lead or assist in Physical Education (PE) sessions, including drills, games and encouraging participation.


• Serve as a positive role model, helping students manage emotions, build resilience and develop teamwork skills.


• Support classroom management and behaviour strategies.

Qualifications

• Active sports background - coach, personal trainer, sports graduate, or similar.


• Energetic, proactive, and ready to engage from day one.


• Resilience and empathy; experience in alternative provision, PRU or with SEMH needs is a plus.


• Strong communication skills and ability to connect with teenagers and de escalate situations.
