Teaching Assistant job in Caerphilly - Reception Class

A small mainstream Primary school in Caerphilly are looking for a professional and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to provide one to one support for a child with mobility issues. This is a full time and long term job, to start in as soon as possible and will potentially become a direct contract for the right person. You will be working to support a child within the Reception class, on a 1:1 basis within the mainstream classroom. The child is wheelchair bound, so will need the appropriate support. The child does not need any support academically.
The right person will be driven and motivated, with excellent knowledge and understanding of supporting children with additional needs. The child is a wheelchair user, but there is no personal care required for this role. The child is very independent, so the right person will need to develop a rapport with the child and gain an understanding of when the child requires help and when to support the child's independence.
Staff at the school have created a very positive and enthusiastic environment where everyone works hard. We are looking for someone who would fit in well with this type of team, who has a genuine passion for supporting learning, and who will be committed to enhancing the child's educational experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be essential for providing the utmost support for the pupil, as well as in liaising with the pupil's parents.

- Excellent knowledge and understanding of your role as an SEN TA, and how best to enhance learning and development

- A genuine desire to support pupils with Special Educational Needs
Manual Handling training is needed for this role but is not ideal as we can provide this.
