Job Description

Vetro are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a reputable school in Wirral. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support students with special educational needs within a caring and inclusive environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENDCO and classroom staff to promote student development and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting students' development in a safe, secure, and challenging environment.
• Meeting the physical and medical needs of students according to individual care plans while encouraging independence.
• Developing an understanding of students' specific needs to facilitate effective learning.
• Promoting inclusion within the classroom and displaying students' work to reflect their achievements.
• Assisting with personal hygiene and self-help skills.
• Facilitating small group and 1-1 interventions such as social skills, homework support, and other targeted activities as directed by the SENDCO.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A positive attitude and a commitment to supporting student development.
• Experience working with children or young people, particularly in special educational needs settings, is desirable but not essential.
• An understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
