SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant - Year 6 - Kidderminster

Location: Kidderminster

Year Group: Year 6 / KS2

Pay: £92.56 - £110 per day PAYE

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Long-term

SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 6

Distinction Education is seeking a confident and supportive SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils within a Year 6 class at a primary school in Kidderminster.

This role will involve supporting children who require additional help with their learning, engagement and confidence as they progress through their final year of primary school.

About the Role

You will work alongside the class teacher and wider support team, providing targeted support to pupils with additional needs.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting children with Special Educational Needs
  • Working individually with pupils and with small groups
  • Delivering targeted learning interventions
  • Helping pupils remain engaged with classroom learning
  • Supporting literacy and numeracy
  • Encouraging independence and confidence
  • Helping children prepare for the transition to secondary school
  • Working alongside teachers and the school's SENCO
Your Experience

Ideally, you will have previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, SEND Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.

However, school-based experience is desirable rather than essential.

We are open to candidates who have meaningful experience supporting children and young people outside a traditional school environment.

Experience within youth work, children's residential care, SEND services, childcare, sports coaching, tutoring, children's charities or support work could provide many of the skills required for this position.

We are particularly looking for someone who can demonstrate patience, resilience, good communication skills and the ability to develop positive professional relationships with children.

£92.56 - £110 per day PAYE
