Salary: £26,832 - £28,146 per annum (pro rata for part-time) (Pay award pending)
Working Hours: 35 hrs per week 8.30am -3.30pm-Term time
Contract Type: Fixed Term until July 2027

About the RoleDo you have the skills and passion to make a difference to children and young people with SEND, through supporting and developing the staff who work with them?
If so, we want you for our year-long project to work with classroom support staff across Leicestershire. We are building a team with expertise in-class support for pupils with additional needs. Our aim is to provide further training, supervision and oversight to support staff in mainstream schools by extending our educational psychology offer to provide increased levels of support to staff who are supporting children and young people with complex needs. This support may involve delivering training, observation, consultation outside of the classroom. Your role will be to support all parts of this process, whether that be through direct support to staff who are implementing new approaches, or supporting pupils in the classroom to enable staff to access our offer during the school day.
You will be part of the Oakfield Short-Stay School workforce but the majority of your time will be spent working in a team, out in schools working with staff with oversight from the Educational Psychology Service.
About YouTo apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:
- NVQ 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent, OR Able to demonstrate the ability to meet the STL Level 3 National Occupational Standards relevant to this post. and ability to demonstrate competency in literacy and numeracy equivalent to level 2
- Experience of supporting planning, evaluation and delivery of learning activities for children and young people in a formal setting.
- Knowledge of child protection and health and safety procedures and their application in a school setting.
- Good interpersonal skills and Empathy with children and young people.
- Ability to effectively manage pupil behaviour in accordance with school policy and procedure.
- Have Empathy with children and young people.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

An enhanced with barred list DBS check is required for this post.
