Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Brackley on a full time maternity cover basis. This role offers a supportive environment where pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the classroom, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and effective learning experiences.
• Deliver targeted interventions on a one to one and small group basis, particularly in Phonics and Maths.
• Support pupils' personal, social, and emotional development.
• Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and administrative tasks.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and active participation in learning.
• Support teachers in monitoring pupil progress and sharing relevant information.
• Help ensure pupils' safety, wellbeing, and inclusion at all times.
• Supervise pupils during break times, educational visits, and wider school activities when required.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school community.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
• Passion for supporting children's learning, wellbeing, and development.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, flexibility, and a caring approach.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
