Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Ofsted Good Primary School, Mitcham

About the role:

Engage Education are looking for a dedicated Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive, Ofsted Good primary school in Mitcham. This role involves 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN, so any previous experience supporting children with additional needs will be a strong advantage. The position is full-time and ongoing.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing 1:1 SEN support for a pupil in Year 1
• Helping the child access learning and stay engaged
• Supporting the class teacher with daily routines
• Working with small groups when required
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience supporting children with SEN and/or 1:1 needs
• Previous work with KS1 pupils, ideally Year 1
• Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping young learners
• A Level 2 or 3 support staff qualification (desirable)
