SEND Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary School Oldham April Start

Milk Education are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a mainstream Primary School in Oldham on a long-term basis starting in April.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND to help them access the curriculum and remain engaged in learning.

• Support pupils working towards EHCP targets, following guidance from the class teacher and SENCo.

• Implement positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement, independence and emotional regulation.

• Assist with classroom preparation, monitoring progress and providing feedback on pupil development and wellbeing.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) desirable.

• 6-12 months experience supporting children with SEND in a UK school setting.

• Knowledge of supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

• Strong communication skills and a patient, supportive approach.
