Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi VA is a 3 16 Church in Wales school that serves the historic city of St. Davids and its surrounding area, located within Pembrokeshire National Park. The school provides a caring, inclusive and welcoming environment proud of its Christian and community ethos, with strong links to the local community and extensive opportunities for outdoor activities.

Job Details
  • Salary Grade 4 - £25,989 - £26,403 pro rata
  • Contract: Fixed Term, 30 hours per week (pro rata)
  • Age range served: 3 16, with a focus on pupils with ALN
Job Description

From September 2026 the school will appoint forward thinking and innovative Teaching Assistants with a passion for working with pupils with ALN. The role involves working one to one with a pupil who has an Individual Development Plan (IDP) and is based within the secondary Learning Resource Centre. Applicants from primary or secondary settings are welcome if they are willing to work across the 3 16 age range.

Supported by Lead Teachers and Head/Lead Teaching Assistants, you will collaborate with both primary and secondary LRC teams to ensure best practice across the school provision.

Responsibilities
  • Work one to one with a pupil who has an IDP to support learning and development.
  • Collaborate with Lead Teachers and HLTAs across the primary and secondary LRC to implement inclusive teaching practices.
  • Support safeguarding and child protection procedures, ensuring the safety and well being of vulnerable children.
