  • Salary: £32,916 - £51,048 per annum

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher (SEN) - Maternity Cover to join our fantastic team at Piper Hill High School.

This is a fixed term, full time role covering maternity leave from September 2026 for one academic year or until the post holder returns. This role works on teaching terms and offers MPS UPS plus SEN allowance.

Main purpose of the job:

As a Teacher you will be expected to match the characteristics described in the Professional Standards for Teachers and fulfil the professional responsibilities common to all classroom teachers.

You will be responsible for making an impact on the education progress of students and improving standards of learning and raising student achievement for all students in the school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that students experience an educational programme that is personalised to their needs, developing their skills and abilities.
  • Ensure lessons are appropriately planned, delivered and reviewed, meeting the learning needs of all students.
  • Foster a positive working environment in the curriculum area that supports students' learning.
  • Lead, develop and enhance the teaching practice (or work) of others.
  • Take an active role in the day to day management of the school.
  • Ensure effective liaison with internal and external support agencies.
  • Make an active contribution to the school's ongoing self evaluation process.
