Cornwallis Academy is a 'Good' school on the outskirts of Loose, Maidstone with over 1300 students on roll aged 11 to 18. Cornwallis' aim is to provide all students with the best educational provision.

We are looking to appoint an outstanding Teacher who can inspire and excite students in their learning of Humanities, specifically across RE and History. You will be joining a well-resourced department that is driven in our focus on raising achievement. RE and History are both popular options at GCSE and Post-16 and the post offers outstanding opportunities for continuous personal and professional development for a highly motivated and ambitious teacher. This is an exciting opportunity for an ECT or experienced teacher.

As well as our state-of-the-art facilities, and innovative digital curriculum, we have an exciting programme of trips, visits, visitors and extra-curricular activities. Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience of teaching RE and/or History
  • An excellent teacher who is passionate about learning and has strong subject knowledge
  • Able to maintain a positive growth mindset despite challenges they may face
  • Collaborative, able to build strong professional relationships
  • Able to motivate and inspire students and staff to achieve their full potential
  • Energetic and have a can-do attitude
  • Confident and has strong career aspirations
  • Committed to safeguarding and the happiness and wellbeing of everyone at the Academy
  • Prepared to be involved in leading co-curricular activities either within or outside of their teaching subject
